Good article. My lesson from gambling is tiny advantages can make big returns. However tiny disadvantages can make HUGE losses.

Enjoyable read. Gambling has taught me a lot of general life lessons.

The point on unlikely things happen all the time is one that keeps needing to be flagged in the biggest companies these days. Their client bases increasing with all the M&A plus covid boost and they struggle with someone jagging a 5000/1 acca every day and think something is wrong

Great post Alun. Was fortunate to share some of those poker boom times with you and the lessons I learned stayed with me. Recently attended a lecture at a business school by a behavioural psychologist about decision making and bias - a great deal of what he said tied directly back to poker and gambling.

Hey mate. LONG time! Agree it's fascinating how much of the stuff we just casually took on over those years is actually hugely valuable in decision making terms. Although if you're like me you ignore most of it. Likewise hope all is good with you.
